Project Overview
I designed the book cover for the 40 page children’s book draft that I wrote, illustrated, and typeset . I also have the final art for a spot illustration and a spread.
Book Summary
On her annual family trip to the mountains, a girl finds a puppy in the forest. A cloud puppy! She must return the puppy to the sky and find the meaning of “if you love something, set it free.”
Book Cover Process
One of the most important aspects of a book is its cover. It needs to be eye-catching and represent the book as a whole. I wanted to highlight the relationship between the main characters so I put them both on the cover, with the title I handwrote. I experimented with different title and character placements until reaching the final version.
