Brief
Create an illustration centering around a holiday breakfast involving at least three characters and foods.
Concept
I kept thinking about how interesting it would be to have three people represent Valentine's Day. I could have done a couple and their kid, but thought it would be more fun and different to do the idea of Third Wheel Valentine's. I made sure to leave a cup set for her date, who is running late (if they show up at all).

I set up the whole spread and tried to get my “actors” to sit still and not eat my props until I got the perfect shot.
Takeaways
Whenever you can, it’s always great to take your own reference pictures. Especially when your props are edible (and delicious).
