Brief
Create a 10-page artist book centered around a theme with an emphasis on the cover and its explorations.
Concept
I wanted to show the evolution of flowers as they go from fresh to wilted to also represent the evolution of fading love. I combined photograms, scanograms, and a cyanotype to create the imagery for this book.
Cover Exploration
Coming up with a title was something that I struggled with as I worked with different imagery for the cover.
Final Cover
The final cover includes a die cut that provides a peek into the second cover underneath. The second cover includes a scan of my hand which brings a human element that is not seen in the rest of the book. These purple flowers are then seen on the back cover as well.
